Description

Whenever a smime encrypted msg file is opened and closed, a mail is created in the inbox.
This does not happen for OpenPGP encrypted msg files.

To reproduce:

  1. Initial inbox state
  2. Open smime encrypted msg file (e.g. doubleclick on msg file on desktop)
  3. Close mail window -> msg is saved to inbox
  4. Open smime encrypted msg file, and close it again -> another mail is created in the inbox

Testdata

  • 09:11:36 - open1
  • 09:12:45 - close1

Event Timeline

timegrid created this object with edit policy "Contributor (Project)".

Note: The created mail is empty

Note: Saving attached mails as msg file and opening them is currently a workaround to be able to display them in certain cases, so this should better be fixed.
See T7806: GpgOL: Attached mails are empty if attached mail has encrypted attachments or is in text format and encrypted or signed

it's always possible to save the mail attachment to desktop and open it in outlook (with correct content and security level)
